We Are The Government: Tactics for Taking Down the Police State

By John W. Whitehead

“The people have the power, all we have to do is awaken that power in the people. The people are unaware. They’re not educated to realize that they have power. The system is so geared that everyone believes the government will fix everything. We are the government.”— John Lennon

Saddled with a corporate media that marches in lockstep with the government, elected officials who dance to the tune of their corporate benefactors, and a court system that serves to maintain order rather than mete out justice, Americans often feel as if they have no voice, no authority and no recourse when it comes to holding government officials accountable and combatting rampant corruption and injustice.

We’re impotent in the face of SWAT teams that break down doors and leave toddlers scarred for life. We’re helpless to prevent police shootings that leave unarmed citizens dead for no other reason than the police officer involved felt “threatened.” We shrug dismissively over the plight of fellow citizens who have their heads cracked, their bodies broken and their rights violated for failing to jump to attention when a police officer issues an order. And we fail to care about the thousands of individuals who have been punished with extreme sentences for nonviolent offenses and are forced to spend their lives as modern-day slaves in bondage to private prisons and the profit-driven corporations they serve.

Make no mistake about it: virtually anything and everything is a crime nowadays (feeding the birds, growing vegetables in your front yard, etc.) to such an extent that if a prosecutor, police officer and judge were so inclined, you could be locked up for any inane reason.

If He Was Around Today, Thomas Jefferson Would Be Considered A Tea Party Extremist

By Michael Snyder

Thomas Jefferson was radically anti-tax, pro-gun and anti-central bank.  He loved precious metals, he openly acknowledged a “Creator” and he wanted to add an amendment to the Constitution which would ban the federal government from going into debt.  If he was around today, he would be considered a “nutjob”, an “extremist”, a “fascist” and even a “potential terrorist“.  But of course Jefferson was none of those things.  Rather, Jefferson was a great thinker, the primary author of the Declaration of Independence and our third President.  Below, I have shared a list of 13 famous Jefferson quotes (13 for the 13 colonies that originally founded America) that show just how far America has fallen away from our founding principles.  I think that most of you will be very shocked when you read this list…

#1 “It is incumbent on every generation to pay its own debts as it goes. A principle which if acted on would save one-half the wars of the world.”

#2 “If we can but prevent the government from wasting the labours of the people, under the pretence of taking care of them, they must become happy.”

#3 “No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms.”

Obama Administration Requires Magician To Submit A 32 Page “Disaster Plan” For His Rabbit

By Michael Snyder

Central planning in this country is getting completely and totally out of control.  These days, you can hardly do anything without running into a suffocating web of red tape.  For example, a small-time magician from Missouri that does magic shows for kids was absolutely horrified when he learned that the Obama administration is requiring him to submit a 32 page “disaster plan” for the rabbit that he uses in his shows.  Yes, this is actually true.  His name is Marty Hahne, and he thought that it was bad enough when the U.S. Department of Agriculture busted him for not having a “license” for his rabbit.  He went out and acquired the proper “license” for his rabbit, but he never dreamed that eventually he would also have to submit a 32 page “disaster plan” for the same rabbit.

Video: Government - THE Largest Special Interest Group!

We all know special interest lobbying is a huge problem in our government.  This video presents some enlightening information about the fact that the influence of special interests reach far beyond lobbying.  It also has a profound influence on the way we vote.  The growth of government/military and the jobs that go along with it has millions of people voting to perpetuate an out-of-control government simply to protect their jobs.

Pretty much everything in this world is driven by self-interests.  Even the charitable things we do are driven by a self-interested desire to be to be a better person, one that isn't always doing things for material gain.   When you realize the enormous number of people employed by government and those on government assistance, you realize we are in a vicious self-sustaining cycle where it's increasingly difficult to reign in an out-of-control government because so many are dependent of it being that way.

Where National Policy Really Comes From: Think Tanks Explained

Think Tanks Explained
Or, Where National Policy Comes From

I was shocked to see the corporate-financier Lowy Institute of Australiatweet a story explaining the ins-and-outs of think tanks. I was equally shocked to actually read the article, titled “Devaluing the Think Tank,” written by Tevi Troy and published in “National Affairs.” It describes what is basically an extra-legal process where national policy is not produced by our elected representatives within the legislative branch, but rather in these policy think-tanks and in some cases, even described as being “marketed.”

Think Tanks Explained BrookingsCorporateSponsors 1

Image: “Your nation’s policy has been brought to you by….” These represent just some of the corporate sponsors of just one single think-tank (the Brookings Institution) that creates both foreign and domestic policy for the United States, extra-legally beyond the nation’s legislative branch, as well as the blueprints for America’s future wars of conquest. Afterward, all that remains is for “elected representatives” to rubber stamp it and for the corporate-media to sell it to an unsuspecting public.

Collective Nouns

The English language has some wonderfully anthropomorphic collective nouns for the various groups of animals. We are all familiar with a:

Herd of Cows

Flock of Chickens

Video: Understanding Libya's Form of Government

Most people are against NATO yet I hear from the same people "but Gaddafi's a monster" "an evil dictator". So in the end, NATO has some support as they are ultimately seen as doing a service to Libyans. This is the biggest misconception! Gaddafi is NO dictator. Please watch and share this video. You can even copy it unto your channel. I just want the truth to spread before it's too late.

Video: John Adams - TheDeclaration of Independence

This is a scene from the HBO miniseries John Adams in which Congress approves the Declaration of Independence.

The time has come for us to do this again, to reestablish our freedom from those who wish to take everything from us and reduce us to serfdom once again.  This time we must declare our independence from the bankster/corporate BORG.  Resistance is NOT FUTILE.  If we don't free ourselves from these blood sucking vultures now it will soon become exponentially more difficult.

Politicians Cause Private Sector Downsizing

By Howard Rich
Rasmussen Report

Of all the myths helping to sustain the unsustainable status quo in Washington, D.C., among the most widely accepted is the belief that a politician’s seniority translates into tangible economic benefits for his or her district.  In fact, this perception works hand-in-glove with another central government myth – the one about politicians being able to create private sector jobs with your tax dollars in the first place.

Perpetuated by aspiring elected officials at all levels of government (and parroted by an intellectually incurious mainstream media), these Keynesian pillars have gone virtually unchallenged for years – allowing government to continue devouring additional chunks of private sector industries it claims to be strengthening.

In recent years, however, public distrust of government has fueled renewed skepticism regarding these two myths – although the academic appetite to challenge them theoretically has been predictably lacking.

In fact, the research that could end up blowing these myths out of the water seems to have come about accidentally – or at least as an afterthought.  Three professors at Harvard Business School – Lauren Cohen, Joshua Coval and Christopher Malloy – were examining the correlation between politically-connected firms and powerful legislative committee chairmen when they stumbled upon something “unexpected.”
